Fermentation tube

A fermentation tube is a laboratory item used in fermentation experiments. It is similar in construction to a gas bubbler.

General

The item consists of a tube bent in an "L" shape, similar in appearance to a smoking pipe, in a way it allows to hold liquid. Most models have a flat "foot" similar to that of a wine glass to hold it straight. It is commonly made of glass or plastic.

Availability

Can be bought from lab suppliers or online.

A plastic variety is sold in many hardware and agricultural stores.

DIY

A simple fermentation tube can be made by inserting a tube in a flask filled with liquid.
