2,4 Dinitrobromobenzene is a useful organic intermediate and easier to prepare in a home lab than 2,4 dinitrochlorobenzene.

2,4 Dinitrobromobenzene is soluble in water and methanol.

Physical

2,4 Dinitrobromobenzene is an off-white crystalline stubstance that, when pure, melts at 71°C-73°C. It has a density of 1.91 g/cm³.

Availability

2,4 Dinitrobromobenzene is not offered by any suppliers available to the amateur. However, 2,4 dinitrochlorobenzene may be available from chemical suppliers and this compound finds very similar uses.

Preparation

Safety
