An old nickel-plated steel Hoffman clip

A Hoffman clip (also called Hoffman screw clip, Hoffman screw compressor tubing clamp or screw tubing clamp) is a tubing clamp with a screw swivel lower jaw which is used to control the flow through tubing.

General

Hoffman clips have an approximate square frame, with an inner screw-operated jaw, similar in function to a vice or a holding clamp, albeit this type is closed and not open. Hoffman clips are made of brass or steel, which is nickel or zinc-plated.

Availability

Hoffman clips can be bought from lab suppliers. They are also found on eBay and Amazon.
