A lead ring, also called O-shaped flask weight, lead ring flask weight, weight rings or just flask weight is a type of weight used to hold steady flasks in a water bath.

General

Lead rings are circular metallic rings, made of steel or lead (as its name suggests), coated in vinyl or some other protective coating. Some models are not completely closed, and instead have a C-shaped form.

Lead rings are sold by lab suppliers.

A simple lead ring can be made by taking a metallic ring and coating it in a protective layer, such as Plasti Dip.
