A weighing dish also called weighing tray or weighing boat is a simple tray or semi-flat item used to hold solids when weighting them on a scale.

Unlike weighing bottles, weighing dishes are used for less precise measurements, and more often for bulk amounts.

General

A weighing dish is a plastic (PE, PP or styrofoam) or (rarer) metal tray-like item. They come in a variety of forms, such as square with rounded edges or hexagonal.

Availability

Weighing dishes can be bought online or from lab suppliers.

Small plastic trays can be found in many hardware stores.

Alternatively, you can use pieces of clean paper.
