benzoyl chloride

I saw 125 gm of benzoyl chloride for $86.09 plus shipping from sciencelab, and only $13.80 plus for 250gms from Alpha Aesar.
Is Alpha Aesar user friendly?
I hate those purchase denials.
ps. I already used tfse.

Niether of those sell "hazardous" chemicals to individuals. I'm not sure about the more mundane ones but I wouldn't count on it. Besides, the sciencelab one is a fucking rip off unless it is some super pure analytical grade.

From sciencelab.com:

Quote:
We provide specialty chemicals and high purity chemicals to industry, individual professionals, life science, educational institutes, pharmaceutical, pilot plants and laboratories.

From alfa's TOS:

Quote:

We reserve the right to limit sales of products or not to sell products to unqualified customers.

and
Quote:

All of our products should be handled only by qualified and trained individuals...

sciencelab is having problems with getting shipments out. in their defence I'll say they have as much trouble billing as delivering. there are other outlets for benzoyl Cl at prices a little higher than alfa but easier to work with. shop, shop, shop... we all have to

Chemsavers has it at $22.10
Sounds fair to me.
This is for the

Reagent (titration) 98.5-101.5 % Benzoyl chloride, 8(6.1), UN1736, II, Ltd. Qty. (0.5L) grade.

The ACS (titration) 98-100.5 % Benzoyl chloride, 8(6.1), UN1736, II, Ltd. Qty. (0.5L)

was 20 bucks more.
The reagent, seems like a higher grade, I thought ACS was supposed to be the best.
