I made some Mg(OH)2 using MgSO4 + NaOH. I washed the Mg(OH)2 real well and dried it out well. I then mixed it with ascorbic acid to make Mg ascorbate.
I expected to need 2 moles of ascorbic for 1 mole of Mg(OH)2 but it ended up needing about 1 to 1.
Wondering why .
