where can I search for information on gravity filtration?

I might try google for starters. A labratory chemistry handbook would also be a good place to start. Libraries work wonders for finding these sort of books.

I guess what I mean is, what is the principle of gravity filtration

Ummmm.....

Give a mixture of particles and liquid a potential energy with respect to the bottom of your collection flask and then allow the mixture to expend this potential energy by conversion to kinetic energy but only allow this conversion to take place through a filter (usually filter paper) which only allows the liquid to convert its potential energy to kinetic.

I mean....c'mon man...

Tom, for the last time, GET OFF YOUR LAZY ASS AND SEARCH!

Also, get a brain. Your creator apparently forgot that part.
