Would anyone here care to share an opinion concerning the possible use of Nickel Hydrazinium Nitrate (NHN) in so called bullet hit squibs, used in the
movie sfx ?
The lack of sensitivity to shock and friction of this compound would definitly be a bonus.
Through my work as film armourer, I am in frequent practical contact with movie special effects operations; A "squib" with a lower sensitivity than
the usual primaries will make some movie set workers happier.

They might be safer from an energetic materials standpoint, but the question is whether the released cloud of nickel would pose a problem. Nickel is
after all a known allergen, so it may not be a good idea to inhale it in dust form.

Well I did not know it was a allergen, but Nickel is a known carcinogen.
