Making kcn from koh, formic acid and nh4cl!

Hi, I've recently read on wikipedia that it's possible to make formamide out of ammonia and formic acid by heating ammonium formate.
If it's possible how can I get approximately pure kcn out of these chemicals?

How do you suggest that formamide --> cyanide would happen?
It already seems unlikely to obtain cyanate from it and that seems more plausible.
For cyanide you'd somehow have to deprotonate at some point AND lose H2O...

Apparently, in the presence of solid acid catalysts, formamide can be dehydrated to form HCN. Reacting that with KOH gives KCN.
