Glass looking for a home UK

I have just won a large job lot of glassware much more than I need or want. So I will be selling off the excess on ebay. I thought I would offer it first here.
Let me know if your interested or need more info.

Some pics of some of the parts are below. There are also heating mantles, test tubes, pipettes, bottles, jars, clamps, stands, books and other things.

PS: the flanged flasks with the single attached side arm in the pic on the right, what is the purpose of the side arm.

Are you talking about the reactors (some are odd looking) or the Erlenmeyer flask ?

Judging by the 'tide marks' I guess a (probably inert) gas inlet ?

The FLANGED spherical flasks in the low right corner of the right hand pic.

The books look like they are mostly catalogs.

An inlet for cold and or dense inert gas makes sense to me as the lid could be removed with out letting in much air.

I have had glassware fetish since childhood. I only bid on the lot for the round reactors, the large one in particular. It would make a nice low pressure electrical discharge display. ie a huge plasma globe .

It will cost me more to collect them from near Manchester than I paid for the lot but still less then the cost of a single used 20l flanged flask.

The side tubes are strange.
I've seen similar on large sublimators where the lid has no ports but is just a cold well.
Those were all cylindrical though. (Some with round bottoms)

Maybe they're just for reactions where 5 ports aren't enough.

Or to fit something to the vessel that's too big for the spacing on the lid ports.

Nice to see they're not scratched up.
So Many used vessels have those networks of circular scratches from glass stirrer blades that were installed improperly so they were pressed against the bottom.

I have now collected the glassware and other stuff.

Sorry only one 1l heating mantel and I am keeping that as it fits the 1l flanged flasks.

Here is a list of the items I want to sell.

1l Flanged flask with side arm 19/26, including five port (19/26) lid with stainless steel clamp. At least 6 available. Glass stoppers and thermometer adapters also available.

1l conical filter flask with side arm, including Buchner funnel (multi hole). One available.

Tall 500ml beaker. Several available

Ceramic crucible 5ml estimated. several available

Small ceramic Buchner funnel 5ml estimated (multi hole), including matching funnel and bung. Several available.

Three and four fingered clamps with boss for clamping to the stand. The robust old type. The rubber has hardened on most of them. Several available

Test tubes pyrex 125mmx 12.5mm and and larger ones. >100 available.

Small glass pipetts . >100 available plain and measuring available.

25ml glass pipetts grade A and B, two of each available.

2ml glass pipett graduated, two available.

Jacked cylinder, flanged at both ends, 1.5l estimated. Two connections to the jacket one to the interior. not quickfit. two available.

Liebig condenser 19/26 joints about 350mm long. Several available

Gooch crucible about 30mm dia., looks like fine grade. Several available,

Large desiccator, about 10l. No stopper but I may have a hose adapter that will fit and a glass stop cock. One only. Postage maybe >£10

Hydrometer 0.8-0.9, 0.9-1 and 1-1.1 several available

Hydrometer 1.01-1.03, two available

Old fashioned steel glue pot, pot in pot type, inner pot about 600ml, outer pot about 1200ml. One available. Looks unused. Some of our older members may remember the smell of the fish glue in one of these that was invariably simmering away in the wood work department at school.

Box of microscope slides. several available.

Large wash bottle stopper, 34/35. inlet female 19/26, outlet male 19/26,

Cylindrical metal electrical heated pot with attached two thermostats (switchable) max temp 200C, capacity about 2l. Postage will be high (>£10) due to size and mass. It could be used as a heated oil bath.

All the glassware is Quickfit

This is for the UK as I assume international post will be too expensive. Pick up is possible from Hereford.
