Does anyone have a peer-reviewed source for the synthesis of RD-1333 lead azide, or of not, a synthesis you have successfully performed?
RD-1333 is a form of lead azide that uses sodium carboxymethylcelluose in place of dextrin. For some reason, it’s considerably more powerful and has
been used successfully in the military for a long time. It’s often mentioned, but I’ve not been able to find detailed synthesis instructions.
I’m not sure if it’s simply used in place of dextrin or if it’s used in another way. I also can’t find any information on the amount to use.
