There was a mention that acetone (vapors) can cause an explosive reaction with magnesium chloride.
This led me of thinking could a reaction be possible when salting out acetone from water with calcium chloride, since some traces of chloride will
inevitably remain in the acetone, and they will concentrate upon distillation. A ballast of mineral oil would be used, aside with calcium sulfate
(25g/L for drying and 10g/L for distillation).
There is also widespread mention that calcium chloride will form an adduct with ketones/acetone and apparently also with some alcohols. Is this true,
and does anyone know any reputable sources about this matter, for it not being just a speculation?

I have never heard of the reaction between Chlorides and acetone but Calcium Chloride is known to form addition compounds with alcohols (https://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/jp992472%2B)
