Rhodium(III)Sulfate

Waffles SS - 20-7-2022 at 02:31

Any suggestion or procedure for synthesis Rh2(SO4)3 ??

I found reference that mentioned reaction of sulfuric acid with rhodium metal at 400c lead to red rhodium(III) sulfate but this route need special equipments.

This is difficult to make rhodium salt from metal.

Anyone has experience on synthesis of this component?

What is your source of rhodium?
I presume you are working at a very small scale.

It will be slightly reactive with aqua regia. Maybe use your nugget as an anode? I melt and sell mine. $$$

Most of its salts are very toxic with LD under 200mg per kilo

Rhodium reacts with aqua reagia only at high pressure and temperature.

Rhodium is usually dissolved in molten NaHSO4 or KHSO4.
