Residue free, non aqueous solvents for sugar

Can anyone suggest some residue free, commercially available and non-aqueous solvents for sugar, preferably that are convenient/non-toxic to handle?

Thank you for the article. Unfortunately solubilities of about a gram per litre of solvent is practically negligible.
