Sodium acetate vs. Cl2

Hello,
I and my cousin were thinking about possible products of reaction between NaOAc and Cl2. We think, there are 2 possible main reactions:

1. 2 CH3COONa + Cl2 --> H3CC(O)OO(O)CCH3(diacetyl peroxide) + 2 NaCl
2. CH3COONa + Cl2 --> CH2ClCOONa + HCl --> CH2ClOOH + NaCl

What do you think?? :)

I do not think any reaction occurs between acetate and chlorine or hypochlorite. Acetate is very resistant to oxidation.
