Inexpensive analytical balances

Is anybody familiar with HRB brand analytical balances? They seem suspiciously inexpensive (ca. $275 US) for a purported resolution of 0.001g. Are they accurate or reliable?

I hope this reply is not off topic, because I lost my connection and had to retype it.

I am not familiar with the HRB brand, but I did buy an Acculab analytical balance from Edmond Scientific that is good to 1 mg. I paid about $300 for it, so the price you quote is not outrageously low.

I regularly check my balance using calibration weights certified by NIST, and it is always dead on. It weighs up to 120 gm, and has not given any problems in the 10 years I have owned it.

In short, if you are in the market for an affordable analytical balance and can find an Acculab within your price range I would recommend it without reservation.

Thank you for the suggestion.
