Aluminium diacetate, more commonly known as basic aluminium acetate, is a white powder with the chemical formula (CH3COO)2AlOH that is stable under normal conditions. It should be kept away from oxidizing acids.

Basic aluminium acetate is an irritant and can irritate skin and eyes. Dangerous products of decomposition include toxic metal oxide fumes, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide.
The diacetate is prepared in a reaction of sodium aluminate (NaAlO2) with acetic acid

Anyone has experience or better informatiom for making it?
NaAlO2 + AcOH = ?

NaAlO2 is made by dissolving aluminium in concentrated aqueous sodium hydroxide.

Not aluminium, but Al2O3. Aluminium and NaOH form Na[Al(OH)4] and Na3[Al(OH)6].

Many Thanks but my question is about reaction.What is other side of this reaction and how i should to do that
NaAlO2 + AcOH = ?

Thanks
Can you put complete reaction?(balanced)

Adas - 11-1-2012 at 12:53

NaAlO2 + 3 AcOH ----> NaOAc + (AcO)2AlOH + H2O

Thanks adas,
Do you know solubility of it in water and acetone/
