Aluminium diacetate, more commonly known as basic aluminium acetate, is a white powder with the chemical formula (CH3COO)2AlOH that is stable under
normal conditions. It should be kept away from oxidizing acids.
Basic aluminium acetate is an irritant and can irritate skin and eyes. Dangerous products of decomposition include toxic metal oxide fumes, carbon
monoxide and carbon dioxide.
The diacetate is prepared in a reaction of sodium aluminate (NaAlO2) with acetic acid
