Free lab table

Eliteforum - 29-4-2012 at 04:24

As per my post here: http://www.sciencemadness.org/talk/viewthread.php?tid=19852#...

I have a genuine lab table, if anyone has a need for it. You'll have to pick it up, or pay for delivery.

Hexavalent - 29-4-2012 at 04:25

Where in the UK are you?

Eliteforum - 29-4-2012 at 04:29

East Midlands, Nottinghamshire.

Hexavalent - 29-4-2012 at 04:32

Thanks, I am alas in North Wales and can't pick it up all too easily, and the shipping I assume would be very expensive as IME those lab tables are bloody heavy!

Eliteforum - 29-4-2012 at 04:36

It is indeed heavy, it would cost about £60 to have it delivered. It cost me close to £600 to buy!

Eliteforum - 23-5-2012 at 09:33

Anyone? Could do with the space!

Pyro - 23-5-2012 at 09:49

shipping rates to belgium? shouldnt be all that expensive if you get it taken by train or ship. time doesnt matter for me. i've leart to be patient while waiting about a month for any glassware i order from the neighbouring country ;)

Eliteforum - 25-5-2012 at 23:41

I can't find any company that'll deliver to Belgium for less than £1,000. If you want it, then I suggest you do some leg work :)

Pyro - 26-5-2012 at 00:47

wow, that's expensive.
sorry, but i can't afford that.
and i'm into chemistry, not sport ;)

Eliteforum - 31-5-2012 at 06:03

Anyone? Or know of any UK chem themed forums I could try? Else it's going to the scrap man which seems a waste..

Hexavalent - 31-5-2012 at 11:33

Try U2Uing the active British members here.... perhaps if you ask them directly (maybe they haven't seen this thread?) someone will answer. Hold on.... what about your lab? Is there nowhere you could install it there?

Eliteforum - 1-6-2012 at 13:07

Not enough room, else I'd keep it. Like i've said it did cost me a fair bit, hence my reluctance to see it go to waste.

I'd rather not spam people's inbox, I'll try gumtree or some other such website.

Hexavalent - 2-6-2012 at 10:44

I'm sure people wouldn't mind you spamming their inbox for the possibility of getting £600 worth of gear for free:)

Eliteforum - 20-8-2012 at 04:02

Thought I'd try one last time..

Dave Angel - 20-8-2012 at 07:10

Alas, a great shame as I have neither the room in my car for transport, nor my lab to install it, and a proper bench would really beat my old, battered Staples desk. You're not far down the M1 either...

Just a thought, could you maybe convert it to mount on the wall and fold down like those awful cabin bunks in ferries, so it's out of the way when not in use?

Or, if a member can't use it, perhaps a local school could benefit from a donation?

Eliteforum - 1-9-2012 at 07:31

Doubt schools around these parts would take it, they get funded out of the educational fund set by the government. Plus, that's more effort than I'd like to put in to shifting it.

Here's the table in question.
