I found this table of drying agents: http://delloyd.50megs.com/moreinfo/drying.html
which is very useful. I was surprised to see CuSO4 can be used to dry acetic acid. I read on a thread on this forum that CuSO4 also dries nitric acid.
What about H2SO4. I've read about sulphuric acid being used as a drying agent but I've never heard of a compound for drying it. hissingnoise - 13-5-2012 at 08:44
Phosphorus pentoxide will dehydrate H2SO4, even producing some SO3.

Or simply boil off the water.Eddygp - 13-5-2012 at 10:22
Concentrated H2SO4 is a strong dehydrating agent. It will turn sucrose into graphite .elementcollector1 - 13-5-2012 at 19:16
