Ehylene-diamine cellulose synthesis

rodanid88 - 16-7-2012 at 13:21

My question is that, what is the name or mechanism of these reactions?
I know the description of the reaction only. So the first step:
Cellulose powder + POCl3 + dimethylformamide stirring and heating for 20 minutes and 90 C degrees. After that, filtration and washing of the cellulose.
The second reaction: The washed and dry cellulose react with ethylene-diamine and form ehylene-diamine cellulose.
Thank you,

What are you referencing this synthesis from?

We have prepared it at the university, but i dont know nothing more about it unfortunately. only that, the dimethylformamide is the solvent.I have annexed the equation of the reaction.
