CF3(CF2)4CF2I
By mistake I got 250g of this substance. I tried to find some info about it, but I found only physical properties.
Does anyone know it's chemical use and possible reactions ? Thanks.

if all the halides on it were F then it'd be a very inert solvent. my guess is this is a precursor for some kind of polymer. the only atom on it that is prone to reacting in any reasonable temperature range is the iodine.

There are several reactions with it, but usually ends up with a perfluoralkyled substance, it is usually used for N or O substituation like other alkyl halides. It is only good if you do flurochemistry.

p.s.: they do not make polymers from it.
