odd necked flask sources?

Funkerman23 - 24-1-2013 at 22:40

To be direct: can any one here tell me where to find the odd joint size multi-necked RBFs? I have been looking at different vessels for my electrolytic preparation experiments( as well as a few hard to clean reactions). I've looked at reaction kettles( great for many reasons but hard to find and expensive. especially with support equipment like mantles, o rings/gaskets and the assorted clamps& such), large beakers, battery jars and even PP& PE buckets for dedicated reactions. But when I thought of a RBF I keep having trouble with the small neck openings. Has anyone ever seen a 3 Necked RBF with a 24/40 center joint W/ 45/50 side necks( for example)? Short of a custom made flask I don't know where to look for such a thing.
I see the RBF's with a larger center joint here and there but. Any advice, comments or opinions are more than welcome and I thank you for your time.

...when you do it eeeeBay.

You'd have to use an adapter for the other side neck, though. This is also easily bought off of eBay.

Wow, that's one ugly piece of glassware!r

I had seen that, but for my needs that would be a novelty at best. I thank you though, but without a seconf 45/50 joint I couldn't fit the electrodes in.. I suspect that was some sort of custom digester before it ended up on eBay.

Reflux condensers with 45/50 joints are very common. I have one that came with an extractor. It would be useful flask. I would buy it but I can't right now. I need a 14/20 Snyder column.

Could you just get a large 3 neck with 3 45/50 joints and then get a 45/50 to 24/40 adapter. This would allow even more flexibility then the one you want. this seems like a slightly more expensive rout with the adapter but cheaper than custom and you get more options for using the glass later. (it's not so specialized)

Just my 2 cents.
