Biochemistry Files Uploaded to FTP in Subfolder
I have just completed uploading all my biochemistry files to our FTP, about 150 Mb. Because of their large number, I put them in a sub-folder called
"Biochemistry&Microbiology(from JohnWW)".
The most valuable item is probably "Biochemistry Garrett and Grisham 2nd ed.pdf", 36 Mb, originally from (very
slow)ftp://books:books@myebooks.dyndns.org . With it, I have included tutorial material and study guides made for it by Rutgers University, in New
Brunswick, New Jersey, used in their advanced Biochemistry 408 course.
A problem that I have encountered in uploading some large files is that sometimes the upload is interrupted with the message "failed 550",
and cannot be resumed because "delete" permission is needed to do so. The following such files had to be completely restarted once, with
"(retry)" in the file-name of the repeated upload:
Bioionformatics - Sequence and Genome Analysis.pdf (should be 7.8 Mb)
Biochemistry408SlideShow-RutgersU(PDF-2004).zip (should be 34 Mb)
RNI-MembraneTransport-RNiederman-2002(www_rci_rutgers_edu-~molbio-Courses-MBB_408_512.pdf (should be 1.1 Mb)
In addition, the following file required TWO tries, and only the second, with "(retry_2)" in its file-name, is complete:
(ebook) - Science - Biology Dictionary.zip (should be 18 Mb)
Axehandle - please delete the incomplete attempts of these files.

Ask Axehandle; but you have to be also able and willing to also make uploads of scientific-related material not already on the FTP to the upload
folder.

No, you don't have to upload at all. You just need to prove a contributing member by participating in the discussion here. The criteria are very
low. Basically it's 10++ sane posts plus passing my "gut feeling".

It is a complete description, with instructions for cultivation, and photographs of nearly all, of all known plants currently in cultivation,
world-wide. This includes all plants cultivated for chemically useful natural products, such as essential oils (mainly various esters and terpenes),
plant lipids, and substances used in pharmaceutical chemistry (drugs, both legal and illegal), herbalism, and industrial synthetic organic chemistry.
It is the complete copy on CD-ROM which accompanies the 2003 print edition, which is still available from the New Zealand publisher (very large and
heavy, and good value at about $100).

There's no way I can (or want to) keep track of 30++ outstanding FTP access requests. If I don't reply, consider my silence as
"no" and re-ask a couple of weeks later.
Basically I'm just trying to weed out the gazillions of people signing up here just to get FTP access without ever contributing to the board...
