Hi
i was looking into the synthesis of caffeine
that require dimethylurea
I was thinking thiourea is similar to urea
dimethylthiourea could be used
to make something like thiocaffeine
such that

i already readed something about 6-thiocaffeine
do anyone here have something to say about that ?

Shouldn't it be either 2-thiocaffeine or 9-thiocaffeine instead? Probably a thiation similar to that of ketones should be OK to prepare this compound.
