Detritus

"You're the one who brought up the subject of Global Warming (GW) in the opening post. Also, if you wish to discuss how SM is being run—specifically, your disapproval of my moderation—I suggest that you start a thread that doesn't open with insults and name calling. Furthermore, moving topics to Detritus isn't censorship—that's what outright deletion is for. Feel free to start a non-inflammatory thread on the proposed subject, if you wish to attempt a civilized discussion. [closed]"

I had to bring up GW as it is the topic you shut down, the example of the very censorship you are doing. Otherwise there would be no example unless you feel I should spend hours dredging up threads from detritus for the examples of my complaint are legion in such a short time, all at the hand of only one person.

What insults, what name calling in the OP. "Der Fuhrer" is it. Name calling is appropriate if it accurately describes the actions of the one called, as it therefore is description of the one named. Description by example, the example being widespread suppression of all who are not in line with what the one named believes should be or not be allowed. If the shoe fits wear it.

The good thing about detritus where this will soon be is it's stuck there for all to see. Proof positive of the events. If instead you choose to delete this out of spite and to hide from view, I will copy and paste it until I am forever banned from the site.

There sure is a lot of drama going on.

Noted.

Only drama if people wish it to be. All I want is the arbitrary deletion, moving to detritus, editing, and in general censoring of multiple threads and posts to be addressed. There is little, usually no warning beforehand. It was not this way for the first ten years of SCM and it should not be this way now. No one before had to walk on eggshells for fear of being delegated by a Bureaucrat to detritus. Don't start the wrong topic, don't say the wrong thing or like lightning you will be sent to the trash heap of detritus.

Having been on several internet science forums, if there are two things that seem to be more controversial than anything else, it is the topics of global warming and social darwinism. The line between educational science and social-political ideology can sometimes be a blurry one.
