Can some one please tell me what they are (covalent, polar covalent, or ionic) I tried looking on the net but I wasn't able to find it.

!Spoon feeding Alert!
Epsom salt is magnesium sulfate, MgSO4. Magnesium sulfate is an ionic compound but the sulfate ion has polar covalent bonds between the sulfur and the oxygens.

This could have easily been found by searching. Which is what you will have to do to find out about mineral oil.

Correct me if i am wong, but isn't mineral oil a mixture, not a compound/solution.

If it consists mostly of hydrocarbons and their derivatives (as i would expect), then you would expect covalent molecular bonding.
