Where can I get a bottle/flask like this one?

AlphaDecay - 26-3-2014 at 18:59

This may seem a very stupid question, but does anyone know where i can find/buy/get a flask for storing small quantities of reagents like this one in the picture?

Dr Bob would be the first person I'd ask he's well known here. J2xP Is another good seller who might be able to help. Failing those two Specialty bottle is a possible option as well but shipping tends to remove the luster of the low pricing. After that, assuming its a 4 dram vial, Elemental scientific may have some and eBay is a possible place as well although I recommend you try Dr Bob and J2xP first.

I get my small glass flasks from elemental scientific. Their pricing is good, but the lids are unfortunately not screw on. I also have some high quality 2 dram glass vials that I purchased on eBay.
Could you specify the volume of the vial in your picture?

That's a glass scintillation vial. I would ask Dr. Bob if he has any before checking elsewhere, but they are very common and handy.

Very good link but op might be warned, 1 dram is very small.

I'm not sure about this, but sometimes you can go to pharmacies and ask them if they have any. If not, I believe United Nuclear has vials like this. I will come back to you on their international policy.
Heres the link: http://unitednuclear.com
[EDIT] Here's their policy:
Quote:

International Orders - Due to the large amount of international credit card fraud, we can only accept payment from outside the USA via the on-line payment service, PayPal - and we can only ship to your confirmed PayPal address. International orders paid for via PayPal may not exceed $500. For information about PayPal or to open a PayPal account, please visit: www.paypal.com - it is free and the service protects both you and us. To place a large value international order (over $500), payment must be made via bank (wire) transfer. To place a large value international order, simply email us the list of item(s) you would like, the quantity, and your shipping address. We will email you back a price quote with shipping options and payment instructions. International customers are responsible for any import fees, taxes or duties as we have no control over these charges. International customers who refuse to pay import fees when a package is delivered will have their package confiscated by the shipping company and will not receive a refund.

All our products can be shipped within the continental United States. For additional fees, most items can ship to Alaska & Hawaii. Some items can ship internationally, but a lot of our products (chemicals and radioactive materials for example) are not permitted in other countries. We also have no idea what the current regulations are in other countries and foreign Customs has a habit of destroying packages that are not permitted - leaving the customer with no package and no money. For this reason no potentially hazardous items can ship outside the USA.

Since vials aren't really dangerous I believe they will ship to you no problem. Sorry if it's an issue with shipping price, though.
