The things I talk above is sodium hydroxide . But the appearance is grain . Then if you have any question give me E-mail.

I think he might mean NaOH prills, or the small granules it comes as when bought OTC.

NaOH in that form can be used just as any other form, its just the shape of the prills that is different.

Out of interest, to the original poster, what form are you most familiar with?

I have never seen sodium hydroxide come as anything other than those prills, or as solution, it isn't practical to kep it in powder form, as it is so hygroscopic.

yes , I want to know about the application of NaOH prills .
mostly NaOH is in solution or parcel. these two forms are familiar in China . and these two form is usefull in industry .But NaOH prills is unfamiliar to many people . there is some very different application from NaOH parcel. one is to clean LCD screen . So I think one application is to form cleaner . If you know other application ,tell me !!!

"prills " means "beads"
"parces"means "flakes"

The application of the prills isn't too dissimilar to the application of other forms considering you can dissolve it in water anyway.

The NaOH that I can buy from supermarkets, which is in prills, is intended for drain cleaning.
I think it is also one of the active constituents of 'Draino'.

Draino isn't pure NaOH. It conains some NaNO3 and misc. other junk.
