Bug? Or something...weird

12AX7 - 10-3-2005 at 19:21

Odd, apparently there wasn't a third page to the PbO thread, and it gave me a blank one. With links to further nonexistent pages. Out of curiosity I smacked the numpad around a bit and got...

Did you write initially two posts to the PbO thread, and then decided to delete the second one? This would produce the effect you describe, i.e. listing post 50, but there being only 49. Once someone replies to this, this will disappear (I think).
Hmm. When I type in any random number after 'page=' I just get an empty page, but not the pages before and after. Oh well.

Using Micro$oft internet explorer? Now THAT is a bannable offense! :D

Uh oh... another unenlightened user bashing M$! (<< you need more smileys BTW :P )

I also got mostly blank pages, the absurdly high numbers started getting page one.

I've also noticed that every once in a while, I will try to get to page 6 of a thread, but end up at an empty page 3. Strange.

I also use mozilla, but occasionally I will find a website needing a plugin that firefox doesn't have. Other than that it is great :D

Despite having a firewall and antivirus, lots of shit still manages to get into my computer. Most of the adware programs affect internet explorer (URL redirects, etc.) and mozilla appears to be immune to it. I also like mozilla's tabbing system, only need to have one window open :D.

Huh, I'm behind a firewall and haven't had a damn thing in four years.

That's likely because you haven't looked for anything nasty that might have found it's way into your PC and with Idiot Explorer that is unevitable.

Firewalls don't stop mal/adware BTW.

cyclonite4 - 12-3-2005 at 18:22

I'm aware of that.
But I found some autodialers on my computer which were quite annyoing (gotten rid of them manually).

Since I was once a user of IE (the shame :( ), I believe some malicious scripts may have gotten in.

None the less, Mozilla rocks, and thats final. :D

What were the names of the extraneous autodialer executable files you found, and what directories were they in, Cyclonite4? I would like to see if the same files are anywhere on mine.
