Proper size of tubing for condensor/vacuum

pantone159 - 30-6-2006 at 10:24

Is there an official size for the tubing to connect to a condensor (water) and to vacuum connections?

Say, for 19/22 equipment. A 5/16 inch ID tube seems to fit the condensor ok, but I wonder if there is something specific that is recommended.

I have a 19/22 glassware kit. I buy 1/4" ID surgical tubing to carry water. This is cheap and readily available by the foot at my local hardware store.

For the vacuum hose I buy the red 1/4" ID thick walled rubber vacuum hose from a scientific supply house.
