how to NOT wash copper sulfate crystal

nelsonB - 7-10-2015 at 18:11

Hi
just a reminder i just had,
so made some copper sulfate with sulfuric acid with hydrogen peroxide
and copper
and waited until appair,
then how i remove that water left,
something water is soluble in and something were copper sulfate is insoluble in, solution = Acetone
No need to say hydrogen peroxide with acetone with a cataliser is not a good idea,
so i did wash these crystal,
and the wash water had some powder copper sulfate in it so i keep it,
waited a bit too much to see how do its look,
now there a white powder mixed with the blue powder,

take a sample and light it suspicous confirmed acetone peroxide had formed in there.
