40/35 Ground Glass Vacuum Stopcock Needed

Atrum - 28-11-2015 at 22:06

Hello all,

Recently I broke the two hose barbs on my 40/35 ground glass stopper with stopcock for my vacuum desiccator. I am looking for a replacement.

So far my searches on ebay and google have come up empty because this is such an uncommon size.

Does anyone have one for sale?

This guy does:

Edit. I should read more carefully. Vacuum stopper.
Can you make good use of a trap?

I saw that one, but mine has a stopcock in it with a T bore in it with 2 hose barbs.

Here is a picture.

Hmmm, I suppose i could find a way to close off one of the tubes and use it.
Especially since my vacuum desiccator is the only piece of equipment i have with a 40/35 joint.

Rubber or teflon bungs might help.

Or, here is another idea.

Then you can use something standard sized for your vacuum attachment.

Better quality probably

That's a 34/35 though, it's not as wide as the 40/35 and thus won't fit.

I did find this one that would work: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Glassware-connection-Adapter-From-Mal...

Score zts. I did scan the site but must have overlooked that one.
However, I think the smaller one would still work. It will just drop into the joint a bit further. There is no lip or shoulder that will prevent it reaching a sealing position.

That just might work. Then I can get a 24/40 vacuum adapter.
I never thought to check Ebay Canada.
Thanks man.
