Fixing Broken Glassware (Reflux Condensor)

MrMario - 15-4-2016 at 09:20

Today I received my Reflux Condensor from Deschem (pretty good ebay seller) but once I connected my two water hoses I noticed that water was leaking into the condensor itself and dripping down...

It's a very small 'crack/hole' that is not connected and causes the leakage. How should I fix this, sending it back is a lot of effort and waiting for such a small crack. I'll add some pictures so u can see it better.

Using other molten glass is no option because it is way to hard and thermal expansion will maybe crack it even more.. Can i maybe use some kind of epoxy that is very hard to dissolve in organic solvents/alcohols?

I'd ask for a new one. Reflux condensers are expensive.

I had a similar condenser arrive with the spiral part completely broken. They sent a new one without making me send the old one back, maybe you'll have the same luck
