Selling my glassware

UrethaneChemist - 20-4-2016 at 08:21

Hello! I am moving and have no use for this glassware any longer. What you see in the pictures are what I'm selling in all. Most if not all are 24/40 fittings with the exception of some of the multiple neck round bottoms and soxhlet extractor which has all the necessary extensions in order to use. I would like to sell all of it as a bundle if possible as I do not have a lot of time on my hands to ship in all sorts of directions. USA only, no international thank you.

$500.00 takes it all!+shipping and handling costs (insurance included) which is very reasonable considering there are a few pieces well worth over 150.00-200.00 each.

Can't you wash it?

j_sum1 - 20-4-2016 at 14:58

There are some nice pieces there.
I presume you are selling to the US.
I'm a wee bit coveting the short path condenser. But the package as a whole is a lot more than I need and shipping internationally would not be worth either the expense or the importation hassles.

UrethaneChemist - 21-4-2016 at 03:17

@chemrox I could wash it but I simple don't have the time to get all the dust off! What you see is what you get. They will clean up nicely.

I don't see any pieces that I would pay more than $100 for... am I missing something?

arkoma - 21-4-2016 at 07:01

The synthware short path condenser retails for over $200.

*edit* it appears everything is "high end", no chinese stuff. The pressure equalized addition funnels are all north of $100 too.

Glassware can be expensive depending where you get it from. The largest size seems to be around 2L. I am not sure I would pay $500, but some who might have the cash flow might, but then again, I am not in the market for glassware at this time.

I will say there are some very useful pieces of glass here. It would allow someone to make leaps and bounds over their current abilities that are limited by their glassware. I am sure they will find a nice home.

It's hard to get what some thing's "worth", when you're in a hurry:(

My meta-x-wife sold his car for something like $1500 to the first guy on craigslist. It was a birthday gift from me and it was pristine!

When I give a gift, I wish to heck there were no strings attached…

UrethaneChemist - 25-4-2016 at 07:06

ill put it in a priority mail small box, so about 10-15.00 off the top of my head.

Dr.Bob - 25-4-2016 at 16:23

It should fit into a medium flat rate box, with is about $12-13 last time I sent one.

UrethaneChemist - 2-5-2016 at 04:46

hotplate sold

any takers on the glassware?

UrethaneChemist - 2-5-2016 at 07:37

Glassware SOLD, thanks!

careysub - 3-5-2016 at 06:40

In pricing the glassware using Laboy, the Chinese discount glassware vendor, I broke $500 before finishing, I would guess the total cost would be in the neighborhood of $700.

On the one hand it is used not new, and some deficiencies are noticeable (missing stopcock stems for a separatory funnel; looks like one broken top joint on a condenser); on the other this is top quality glass.

Are the stopcock replacements easily sourced? I do not know how standard such a thing is.

UrethaneChemist - 3-5-2016 at 07:16

there are some pieces I did not include in the pictures like stopcocks and other miscellaneous pieces. in addition there are also glass mercury thermometers that will fit in the quick distillation setup.
