Sodium Borohydride (NaBH4) USA ?

I know this has been brought up in the past, but why is this reducing agent so difficult to find within the USA? I know sites like chemsavers have drop shipping options, some only to commercial addresses. I haven't come across any decent preparation for the home chemist either. Seems European eBay sellers list it without any issues.

I remember Magpie saying this would be a good project for the forum but couldn't locate much more information past that.

Elemental Scientific has it as one of its Special Order Chemicals. It's pretty expensive, however.

We get ours from Montgomery Chemicals.

I think it's like $50/lb or something and we use about 100 lbs a year.

Seems like someone on ebay was offering small amounts for sale, just a few months back.

Comes and goes, it does.

Hi Media sells it sometimes too. Not available now.
