I seem to be IP banned... but was never a member

mux - 11-12-2016 at 01:59

When visiting this forum for the first time about a minute ago, I got a message that I'm banned and basically can't do anything. Same on another computer, but my mobile connection seems just fine. Conclusion: must be an IP ban. Can you please unban my IP, it must have belonged to someone else pre-2012 (when I moved here), but I dont recall ever having been a member, much less misbehaving on here...

I can DM my IP

If you make too many server requests in too short a period of time, you will automatically get a 24hr IP ban. I accidentally did this a while ago when I was experimenting with some scripts on the forum. My guess is that it will go away soon, just make sure you know what caused it(i.e., something running in the background resulting in lots of requests). This is all assuming that you were initially able to access the forum, if not, I would send a U2U to Bert or Polverone and they should be able to remove your IP from the list.

It happened literally the first time I called up the page. I have many scripts running on my server, but not something accessing this IP or domain name. I'm fairly sure it's a permaban given to somebody else than me.

Regardless, thank you very much for the recommendation, I'll DM the right people.

See your U2U, I have found out what happened, now just trying to figure out WHY.
