quenched reaction&workup

Hi,

after some investigation on stripping off monoaryl-ethers
without PTC, but within the help of pyr.*hcl and micro-irradiation, a tan/yellowish solid has been obtained, irrad. again and quenched with water, extracted with ether.

The result is, after evap., not a solid, but a brown oil.

I´m convinced that the product must be there, just letting it sit for a week for further evaporation didn´t get it.

Are there any tips from a skilled chemist, for further workup?

thanks,

nightflight

perhaps adding a VERY DRY solvent in which the esired compound is surely unsolable can help?
