Naphthenic & Palmitic acids

Rhodanide - 30-12-2017 at 13:18

Hi all, just a quick question.
I've been wanting to obtain both Naphthenic and Palmitic acids, but I can't find anything which contains either. Upon searching through Google, I've found nothing but nutrition guides and soap patents. You all know where this is going. I'm trying to make Aluminum/Aluminium Palmitate and Naphthenate, to see if I can re-create (on a small scale) the original "Napalm". Are any of you aware of what may contain Palmitic and/or Naphthenic acid(s)? Would Aluminum Oleate work?
Also, mods, feel free to move this into the EM thread if it doesn't suit this one.

Thanks,
-R/T

Palm-oil sourced "stearic acid" for cosmetics or soapmaking is actually mostly palmitic acid, balance being mostly stearic. They should behave basically identically for your purposes.
