IKA RET from 110V to 220V

This was kind of a Christmas project, bought used IKA RET from ebay for 100 usd plus shipping from US to EU. There was a faulty main switch which was replaced and a need for conversion from US 110V to EU 220V AC.
The main 18W transformer provides 18V for stirrer (and 12V through 78L12) and sec winding with 8V stripped to 5V with linear regulator. The transformer was replaced with 20W switched PSU which gives single 24V DC. Stirrer motor was rated to 28V so 24V is fed directly, 12V through the same 78L12 regulator and for 5V, a switching regulator LM2576 built on prototype board was used.
The heating element is fed through a BYV34 diode, which gives a little more than 700W for half wave of 220V from the originally 600W 110V element.
Tested on triple distillation of wine made from fermented homemade canned fruits, heating and stirring works fine, the product is also fine :)
