Alum Shale

Smooth203 - 10-3-2018 at 06:46

I went on holiday to Sweden last year with my girlfriend and whilst we were there we went to a sort of nature place, like trees, streams, waterfalls. But it was once an alum shale mine/quarry, and I found a infomation board that had (really vague) ingructions on how the alum was extracted and I thought I'd give it a go, so I brought some home with me to give it a go. However, there isn't much on the internet about alum shale apart from a short wiki page. So I was wondering if anyone knows anything about it that could help me with my extraction.

(Also, I'm going to document my attempt(s) on Youtube, so if you're interested, heres a link: My Channel)

I googled "alum shale production"
it's the 4th hit.
