Could acetone be used instead of butanone in synthesis of hydrazine

In the peroxide process methyl ethyl ketone is used
for synthesis of hydrazine. Why not use acetone?
Does MEK make it easier to separate the products?

Yes, butanone azine is significantly less soluble in water than acetone azine. However the process was originally trialled with acetone IIRC.
