Can't edit some of my posts

JScott - 4-9-2018 at 12:32

I can't edit one of my posts. I notice there are some I can edit, and some I can't. What's up? I don't remember seeing anything in the FAQs regarding this. Can anyone shed some light on what I'm missing?

Thanks

After 24 hours they can no longer be edited.

The 24 hour time limit is for keeping continuity on the threads.

Before they had it, posters would sometimes get pissed off and throw a tantrum and QUIT THE INTERNET FOREVER, which often included erasing all their old posts.

This makes some of the older threads here mighty hard to read.

The above explanations are accurate. If you have new information to add to a discussion, you can simply make another post.

That being said, if you have an old writeup which you would like fixed/updated, feel free to send a U2U to myself or one of the other moderators and we can change it for you.

A particular pet peeve of mine is image rot, as it can make it very difficult to follow older threads. If anyone sees any posts with dead image links, and has a copy of the original images, please let me know. Even if they aren't your own post, I'd be happy to get them fixed.

Ah, that all makes sense. I hadn't thought about those things.

Thank you for helping me out.
