Acetone Peroxide

Hi, I usually wouldn't ask such a stupid question but seeing as how this experiment is dangerous I am stayin on the safe side.

So I read on wikibooks that you can make Acetone Peroxide by mixing acetone and hydrogen peroxide below 10°C along with Concentrated Sulfuric Acid as a catalyst. Seeing as how I can't easily obtain Sulfuric Acid and seeing as how it is a catalyst, would the reaction still occur without the acid to produce Acetone Peroxide?

The internet is full of the information you seek. There is nothing novel, special, or new about this compound, so it is below the calibre of discussion wanted on this site.

So yes, this goes to detritus.
