ok lets say you have a pure hydrochloride salt in water (like phentermine hydrochloride or whatever) and you want to get rid of the water..

if you heat it in a wide flat dish until the water is gone then add acetone to the hot dish (which boils and evaporates VERY quickly) you end up with the powdered crystals released from the dish and easier to scrape. The acetone bubbles and evaporates so quickly that the crystals are not stuck to the dish and instead are very easily scraped as there is air space between them and the dish.

Is there a name for that?
