Bought som palladium, platinum and iridium about 12-15 years ago, when I collected the elements. Not much, about a gram for about $100 each. Now I resumed my collecting, the platina has been stolen from me, and I know exactly who stoled it and I have reported it to the police. But, the iridium har raised! It's about $350 for a gram now.

The osmium-prize seems to be low now! So I bought some, I also bought some rutenium (pretty cheap) and new platinum (pretty expensive, but not as iridium and rhodium). Only rhodium left of the noble metals, the most expensive...

Gold have I also of course.

Where did you buy the osmium and ruthenium? I also consider buying some of these, but the sellers I know of are far above spot price, not just by some percentage, but a big factor.

All on eBay. This seller now; https://www.ebay.com/usr/snaucke-elements But there are for sure other sellers too.

But 14-15 years ago I bought from this company; https://www.smart-elements.com/ But now they are ridiculously expensive. And the most of the stuff in their ridiculous acrylic-cubes. But I still have an ampule with ceasium from them.

EDIT: snaucke-elements is in Netherlands, your country!

Invest in small scale with the noble metalls? Just for about $2000?

If I buy and sell on eBay, so you do not have to pay tax either. Found 10 g osmium from China; https://www.ebay.com/itm/113752574803 $458.00. And I know osmium has been much more expensive earlier. Rutenium is also low now. I don't wanna sell my 1 g-pieces of iridium and palladium even though they increased in value. I still want one pieace each of is. I knew it is always much more expensive on for example eBay than proffessional traders. But you can't buy 1 g-pieces there.

Cant find a page eith daily prices for all metals, but these are pretty updatetd; https://www.bullionbypost.co.uk/index/market-commentary/most...

And I still dont have rhodium... :(

I had the same thinking about osmium. It's still fixed at $400/oz, while everything else has skyrocketed. That's for large quantities of osmium sponge though. I paid $800 for a 31g fused ingot for my element collection. My most expensive so far, but still a good deal compared to iridium or rhodium.

Funny to think that was written just a year ago.
Rhodium is Unobtainium right now.
The spot price hasnt changed a lot, but the only sellers out there willing to sell charge around 1300-1400 $ / gram

Rh is down 19% today.

I didn't know Pd went up to $3000 3 weeks ago...it's since gone down even as cars are presumably picking back up...should have sold then. The impact of battery cars remains to be seen, depending on how many conventional engines are produced in the future. If China decides to hoard battery chemicals, both those and the catalyst metals could really soar.

Found rhodium on eBay, and wanted it to my element collection. Paid about $16 for 1/10 grain. I think it's about 6,5 mg. But it's visible at least...

Congrats on getting this very expensive metal into your collection... :o
Visible? Hmm. I have a very conflicted opinion about that.... glasses on, glasses off, two totally different opinions actually.
I tried to scratch the bit of rhodium away on my monitor, and that was with glasses on :P
If its visible for you, then thats great of course :D (jk :))

I see it at least, it's the little flake above the "diu" in "Rhodium" on the black paper, covered with plastic I have cut round to fit in the jar... :)

Price, isn't it always dictated by scarcity?
