new trauzl test

You know how hard it is to figure out the power of an explosive by just listening to it or seeing how far it craters a steel plate.
After thinking about it for a while I came up with a test that simulates the lead block expansion quite nicely.
materials:
14 gauge steel sheet 40cmx40cm
1/8 plexiglas or glass sheet 41cmx41cm with small hole in middle
syringe
1 gram of TNT or ap confined

directions
lay the metal sheet on four bricks so that it sits atleast 2"above the ground
lay the charge in the middle of the plate
detonate
lay the plastic sheet over the dented metal
fill and measure how much water is needed to completely fill the indentation
the tnt or Ap is just your benchmark to measure other energetic materials

with this method tnt is your constant.
with any subsequent explosions you measure out 1 gram of material confine it how much water it takes to fill the dent.
the more pwerful the blast the greater volume displaced

now you can measure the power of nitrogen chloride, iodide, and other explosives unfit for bulk masses.

Trauzl test ?

Is the traulz not a test measuring the intensity of energetic materials which form
an hole in a lead block, depending of the
weight and the highness which the weight
ignite the material ?

14 gauge steel sheet 40cmx40cm
1/8 plexiglas or glass sheet 41cmx41cm with small hole in middle
syringe
lead block
a spiky bolt
a measuring weight

This is more like a plate denting test than a trauzl test, so you would get a good idea of brisance but probably not the same results as a trauzl test.
