Anyone have info...DIY cation exchange resins?

I'm wanting to produce hypophos. acid from Na hydrophosphite salt using a cation exchange resin. I've never used these resins nor do I know much about them.

Anyone have a reasonable estimate on the prices of these resins or simple method of producing your own supply?

Any help would be much appreciated! 8)

This should be in the acquisiton forum but they are used in water purification. Google should answer a lot of questions.
