Zinc Acetate synth via H2O2 (oxide) intermediate?

I think that's right anyway (oxide intermediate)

I know this works with copper, and I know this Zn compound can be made in other ways like via HCl and then sodium carbonate; but I wonder if simple Zinc metal could be oxidized with h2o2, and then treated with AcOH?

thx
