How do you calculate molar solubility?


This is a question in my homework. I used some of the steps shown in the text book but I couldn't get it right. Could somebody please help me? Thank you!


Calculate the molar solubility of copper(II) sulfide in each of the following.?
1/ pure water
2/ 0.23 M CuCl2
3/ 0.19 M K2S

Do you have access to a table of solubility products at the desired temperatures concerned, including that of CuS? The solubility equilibria would, of course, be affected by the extra Cu(II) and S(-2) present from the CuCl2 and K2S (themselves much more soluble) where they are already in solution, thereby reducing the solubility of the CuS.

There should be such tables of solubility products in the CRC Handbook Of Chemistry & Physics and Perry's Chemical Engineers" Handbook and Lange's Handbook Of Chemistry, of which I have uploaded several different editions, and have posted the links for downloading them in the password-accessed References section.
